20 Aug ADR Danielle Radcliffe “Jungle”
One of my more interesting experiences was the day we were to record Tracy Morgan for the new Twilight Zone series. I had gone downstairs to the street to greet Tracy when he arrived. Soon enough, I noticed this spectacular SUV type Lamborghini pulling up and parking in an illegal spot across the street. It was Tracy Morgan behind the wheel. I ran across the street to greet him, told him I was from Buttons and I was to bring him up to record his lines. First thing he said to me was “You’ve gottawatch my car!”. At first I wasn’t sure he was serious, but he was very serious. The car was already attracting numerous passerbys with cell phones, all taking pictures of this spectacular vehicle. I didn’t have any choice but to say “Sure, Tracy, I’ll keep an eye on it.” And for the next 20 minutes I guarded this prized Lamborghini, shooing away the various gawkers and keeping an eye out for the traffic police, since after all, the car was illegally parked. After 20 minutes, here comes Tracy happily walking across the street. I still had his paperwork with me that he needed to sign for the session, so I had him sign, he said “Thanks kid” and was merrily on his way. Still not sure what he expected me to do if a cop had showed up, since he didn’t give me the keys to move the car, but it all turned out ok.
